Linear Refraction

Linear Refraction series is customized lighting for Hotel 35. Located in Lishui, the capital of photography, Hotel 35 is the first design hotel in China which merged art village and tourism industry and create a new business model type. Artist Ray Teng Pai tried to explore the relationship between time, space, and person under the theme of photography. Linear Refraction series creates a contemporary composition of geometry in the hotel room, and responds to the photography of art.

MABY Smart Lighting System

MABY is a smart lighting system designed for creating decorative pieces through combining light cells of different geometric shapes. It combines with color pattern plates called MABY skin to further enhance the appearance of the creations. Control can be done through touch sensors or mobile app to adjust the lights and shades to suit different atmospheres. MABY can be used as an unique decorative lighting system for home designs or as a tool to stimulate and inspire creativities.

Crystal

The art installation Crystal is made for the Yonge + St. Clair Fall Art Festival (Toronto, Canada) which is aimed to promote local businesses. The Crystal is an abstract 3d object of 3 meters in height, aimed to demonstrate the process of transformation throughout the crystal lattice. Using triangular shapes, the artist has created a volumetric structural arch resembling a crystal. To outline the shape, the structure was featured with rope knitting and illuminated by 5 meters of LED Neon Flex light from below.

Buddy

Buddy is a minimal, playful table light designed by Mona Sharma and made by Gantri, who 3D print lights using PLA derived from sugar crops. The adjustable head was a key idea from the designer, resulting in a new, stock component for future designers on the Gantri platform - offering better products and open source design. Each light is locally made in California and hand finished using water based marine paints, giving luxury, made to order products that are attainable, sustainable and safer for the planet.

Based on research insights that people are more inclined to leisure, Weed not only uses a lightweight design language form, but also combines wireless charging technology into its compact body to achieve portability, which perfectly meets this demand. Its design is completely user-centric in any case, it has multiple roles, and can also be used as a flash torch when you pull out the rod. Its smooth patterned surface has also become a symbol of indoor nature, which will evoke your memories of childhood outdoor activities.
